In celebration of our 79th anniversary, May & Baker Nigeria Plc donated school backpacks and writing materials to selected schools, primary and secondary, in Ota, Ogun state and Ogba, Lagos State.

The donations with a CSR theme tagged “CARING FOR THE FUTURE”, was a supportive gestures geared towards empowering pupils and students in schools within the community.

Addressing pupils of Ogba Primary School, Mrs Uche Olekanma, the Head of Nature Care Business for May & Baker Nigeria Plc, stressed the importance of education which she said is a necessary key to success and advised the children to strive for excellence in their studies in order to become outstanding professionals in the future, while remaining obedient and appreciative of their parents and teachers’ efforts. She further thanked the teachers for their unending support in positively moulding the lives of the children & ensuring they receive impactful knowledge. She also acknowledged the efforts of the Lagos State Government for its tireless role in ensuring that a conducive learning environment is available for the pupils.

In Ogun State, Ota, the head of Pharma Plant Operations, May & Baker, while speaking to student of Iganmode Grammar School, encouraged them to always aspire to succeed, remain determined and never back down when it comes to excelling in their studies. He stated that May & Baker is in full support of their academic excellence and advised that the students should make the most of the opportunities they have to develop and be better and prouder versions of themselves in the future, so they are equipped to handle any upcoming problems in a fascinating and increasingly globalized world.

The Corporate Communication Manager, Ms Binta Yusuf, said May & Baker Nigeria Plc started the initiative to motivate and encourage students to be steadfast in the pursuant of literary excellence in their studies and teach them the value of having good grades in school which is the surest step towards a brighter future.

The May & Baker’s ‘CARING FOR THE FUTURE’ initiative is an avenue to show appreciation and care by giving back to the society while looking forward to every child’s success in the near future and also spreading the joy of education to other schools.
